Father A James Governor

Hello!  My name is Fr Andrew, and I am the Ministry Area Leader for De Morgannwg. Our ministry family includes the beautiful churches of St Peter’s (Dinas Powys), St Andrew’s Major, and Michaelston-le-Pit.

Outside my ministry, I have a grown-up daughter and am frequently spotted out for a stroll with my dog, Douglas. While I have a keen interest in music and gadgets, my real passion is getting out on the open road on my motorbike!

St Andrew’s Major School shares a deep and historic bond with the ancient Parish of St Andrew’s Major. It is a joy to lead weekly worship at the school, and we love welcoming the children to our churches to explore their RVE curriculum and join us in worship.

As a Foundation Governor, I am dedicated to strengthening the bridge between our school and the Church. My door is always open to the entire school community—staff, parents, and children alike—for pastoral care or just a friendly chat. You’ll also see me around the school during "learning walks," supporting our shared values and RVE lessons, and serving on the admissions committee.

I would be delighted to see you at any of our services or events across our three churches. We also host a regular Sunday School at St Peter’s, which is a wonderful way for families to get involved.
