The governing body has six active committees and four ad hoc committees, which only convene under special circumstances.

The active committees include:

• Finance
• Staffing
• Performance Management
• Premises
• Admissions
• School Policy and Curriculum

Each committee has terms of reference, objectives and delegated powers. The chair of each committee provides feedback to all governors during full governing body meetings and certain issues are presented and then voted on by all governors. A summary of which governors are members of which committees is set out in the document below under Attachments.

Each governor is also linked with a member of staff with responsibility for a particular subject area. This provides an opportunity for staff to update governors in more detail on developments within a curriculum subject area and for governors to express interest and provide support to staff. The governor-staff links are summarised in the document below under Attachments.
