  • PDG Funding 2014 - 2015 "The Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) is extra funding from the Welsh Government to overcome additional barriers poorer pupils face that prevent them from reaching their potential.  This may include exceptionally able pupils who, because of their family background are not achieving their full potential, even though they appear to be holding their own in comparison with their peers."Taken from "Guidance for Using the Pupil Deptivation Grant, Welsh Government, 2013.The allocation for the financial year 2014 -15 for St Andrews Major C/W Primary School based on the percentage of free school meals is £4,590.We are using this money to:Fund small group or individual support for pupils to develop their numeracy and literacy skillsProvide specialist ...

  • NATO Summit The NATO summit is being held in South Wales during the first week of the Autumn Term and it has been recommended that the school operates restricted hours during this time to alleviate traffic congestion.  It has therefore been decided that Nursery will now start on Monday 8th September.  Reception children who were due to start on Thursday 4th September will now start on Tuesday 2nd September.  Letters have been sent to those affected by these changes.  Please note that the first week of term opening hours will be as follows:  Monday 1st September – INSET Day Tuesday 2nd September – Open as normal Wednesday 3rd September – Open between 8.50am and 2.00pm Thursday 4th September – Open ...
